What To Do After an Auto Accident

You’ve been in an auto accident – now what? A car accident, whether big or small, can be a confusing and stressful event. Preparing yourself can help you remain calm and protected. It is important to know what key things to do immediately following an accident and in the subsequent days after.

Our team of professional insurance agents would like to share with you an automobile accident checklist. This checklist was designed to help assist you at the scene of the accident and when you file a claim.

A commonly asked question our insurance department receives about car insurance is if a customer’s auto policy covers a rental car accident. “North Dakota law requires that the property damage liability coverage of your personal auto policy provide coverage in the event you cause damage to a vehicle you have rented for less than 30 days. Therefore, it would not be necessary to purchase coverage for physical damage offered by the car rental agency,” says Insurance Agent Joseph Belo.

We recommend printing off this checklist. Then, place it in your automobile’s glove compartment to review in the case of an accident.
